Nella campagna bergamasca di fine ottocento si alternano le vicende di quattro famiglie contadine. Un bambino sveglio e intelligente, Mènec, torna un giorno a casa con uno zoccolo rotto. Il padre, non avendo i soldi per comprargli un nuovo paio di scarpe, decide di tagliare di nascosto un albero per fare un nuovo paio di zoccoli al figlio. Accanto a questa piccola storia si alternano episodi di umile vita contadina fatta di lavoro nei campi, preghiera e amori.

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION:
“The Tree Of Wooden Clogs”: Lombardy, end of the 19th century. In the Bergamo countryside of the late nineteenth century, the stories of four peasant families alternate. A smart and intelligent child, Mènec, returns home one day with a broken clog. The father, not having the money to buy him a new pair of shoes, decides to secretly cut down a tree to make a new pair of clogs for his son. Alongside this little story, episodes of humble peasant life alternating with work in the fields, prayer and love.
