ENGLISH DESCRIPTION:
“ANDIAMO IN ITALIA BOOK 2” was born as a necessity and to fill the need for structured, educational resources to support the teaching of Italian in schools. This book is intended to support teachers who are implementing the Italian LOTE programs in providing language skills and activities which promote culturally appropriate communicative interactions in the appropriate context for grade 2 children. It has been develop to:
* Provide a framework to assist teachers in developing, implementing and evaluating an effective Italian LOTE curriculum;
* Develop language skills which enable the learner to manipulate the language in a confident manner and to demonstrate their knowledge with others;

* Highlight the value of Italian learning and its contribution to establishing the foundation for lifelong learning;
* Provide suggestions of language functions for the linguistic content of the Italian LOTE program;
* Promote developmentally, socially and culturally appropriate opportunities and outcomes for children learning Italian;
* Easy to use resource for parents to monitor their child’s progress and reinforce simple words & sentences learnt at school.

Each level of materials is supported by a corresponding TEACHER MANUAL.
